Life & Health Insurance/accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance


Stonebridge Life Insurance Company offers a million dollar policy for $10.95 per month.  The catch is that you must be a passenger on a plane, train, bus, or some modality of public transportation.  I do not ordinarily use these types of transportation as I drive myself most places and do not travel extensively.

In the alternative, the plan offers only $100,000 as result of an automobile accident, whether I am driver or passenger. Also, if I am struck by motor vehicle as a pedestrian.  

Bottom I getting a good deal...basically, $100K policy for $10.95 month? Policy decreases to half value ($50K)when I reach age 70.  My husband and I already have term life policies as well as a whole life also on him through other companies.

You use the right phrase in your explanation..."the catch". This type of a policy is essentially what they call a common carrier accidental only life insurance. It covers...accidental death...not health related.

Your question is if you are getting a good deal. A good deal is only as good as it is perceived by the one purchasing. As I look at from the outside in, I have questions that would help me consider a definitive answer but without knowing your age, health status, reason for the additional insurance, etc. my answer is is not a good deal.

If you would like to provide me some more information on you and your reasoning for acquiring this insurance then my answer may change.
