I like David's answer. Regarding the life insurance, $100,000 coverage is still pretty inexpensive at your age. It could give you peace of mind to maintain your coverage for 10-15 years. In the unlikely situation that you predecease your husband he will not be so much at risk from losing your pension. As David says often even a few hundred dollars a month can make a huge difference. $100,000 could easily provide 400-500 dollars per month for your husbands expected lifetime. If the cost of $100,000 is too much look at $50,000. Half a loaf...

Buy Term only, from someone who cares more about your need than a commission for himself. There are very low cost options out there. Good luck!
