Question Hi Gerry,
I am a 50 year old male and had a Light, Bottom Wall M.I. due to a 100% blockage of the Right Coronary Artery. in Aug., 2003. I had Angioplasty and a stint put in. They said other coronary arteries looked O.K. Went right back to truck driving after 6 weeks recoup. Can still do everything and seems like more than I did before.
My 84 yr. old Mom is under State Farm and she said the agent said that I probably couldn't get any more life insurance. Is that true? If not, what is my best avenue or option to purchase some? I am already covered under a State Farm Universal Life policy I've had for 30 years. Just wondering about some more term insurance.
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Mike Eidson, LAc.
Answer Mike:
Although this is outside my expertise, you should be able to acquire additional life insurance BUT, I believe it would be a rated policy due to the '03 medicals. You might find term insurance more heavily rated than some form of permanent life coverage. You would be served best if you shop around for this additional coverage.
