Question I was told by a patient suffering from COPD that there are "steps" of the COPD disease. Once you go down a step you will not go back up. Is this true? I read on your site that some people have highs and lows, but do they actually get back to normal during a high?
Answer Hi Pat and thanks for writing,
I'm afraid COPD is a progressive disease which continually declines; there may be some fluctuations, but the road does go down lower and lower. Anyone in advanced COPD will never be "normal" again, even during a temporary high.
Sorry I don't have better news for you, all my best,
Margot
