Question i`ve a 1993 f150 with the 5.0 and the eletric overdrive trans.two years ago i had and an advance auto rebuild tranny put in.it never seemed to shift right.but a couple of months i was driving it on 80/90 tollroad when the over drive stopped working.so now when i put it in drive it shifts late and hard till it warms up.after its warm it shifts smooth but still a little late.but if you put it in overdrive it wont shift up warm or cold.i`ve been told it could be the tranny computer brain went out or a relay.

I assume that the overdrive light is flashing. This will indicate the problem and the repair. I suggest you take it to Cottman transmission and have it scanned. They will do this for free. I hear that Aamco is now doing this for free also.
