Question Dinger,
Thanks for the quick reply. Upon further review, there is power as the headlights come on when you press a button. However, the doors do not unlock using the number on the module under the seat. I'm thinking maybe that's the wrong number? Anyway, the dealer I got the car from is going to try to contact the previous owner to see if they have the code and the manaul. So now I wait. the dealer wants $50 to run the VIN to get the code and another $100 for a manual (Merry Christmas to you to!)
So it seems I simply have the wrong code for this car, story of my life :)
Thank you for your help. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless :)
Mike

-----Question-----
Yesterday I bought a 2006 Merc Grand Marques. Didn't get an owners manual. After reading previous posts here I learned the keyless entry is also located on the module under the seat (awesome) since all other stickers had been removed. Problem seems to be that there is no power on the keypad. I thought when I entered numbers the keypad would light up (lights inside the car, ect, something). All connections that I could see look ok. Remote works correctly. Am I missing something here? Is there some way that perhaps the keyless entry system is disabled? Turned off? Blown fuse? this car only has 4000 miles so unless it came from the factory like this I can't imagine what might be wrong. Any and all assistance is appreciated and welcomed. I did call my local Merc dealer who didn't seem very interested to help me after he learned I didn't purchase the car from him. Please help!
Also, any idea where I might get an owners manual? Thanks again :)
-----Answer-----
Mike,
That car is under factory warranty so no matter how disinterested they sounded, they own this repair. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it for free.
Answer Thank you Mike, and to you and yours as well. Since there is power, open the trunk and on one of the trunk hinges they used to put a white sticker with a five digit code. Then I was told they started putting them on the inside driverside rear quarter panel. You would need to remove the liner on that side, though this is hearsay and I have only seen it once on an Explorer like 8 years ago. The sticker in the trunk I have seen a hundred times. But I know they stopped putting it there, I just don't know when. Those cars with that low of mileage are usually rental returns or factory demos. It might not be easy to retrieve this code from them. Try calling Ford customer service. Here is the number for Mercury cars and trucks customer service: (800) 521-4140.
