About Tom Horne
Expertise
I`m well versed in classical literature, from Greek mythology up to the Pre-Renaissance, including Homer, Dante, Bocaccio, Virgil. I`m currently a writer who incorporates many classical references in my work, so I constantly keep myself involved, and I`d be happy to help anyone in need of some help, a reference, etc.

Question
About how old was Penelope at the end of the  Odyssey?

Answer
Hello, Leanna.
We cannot be sure of her exact age, since it's not given.  But we do know some things to put some clues together.  Odysseus has been gone 20 years (ten in the Trojan War and ten in the travels home).  So if she was 20 when Odys. left, then she'd be about 40 now.  My guess is she was a bit older when he left, maybe 30.   So she'd be about 50 toward the end of the book when he finally comes home.
