Question
What defines a book being described as a classic?  What is the citeria for being called a classic?

Answer
Hi Karen and thank you for your letter. A Classic is when the critics love your book but the public hates it and doesn't buy it and the author dies in poverty. Edgar Allan Poe comes to mind. However if you write junk and the critics hate it but the public love it and turn you into a millionaire that is NOT a Classic. Stephen King comes to mind.

Best wishes and could you please rate my answer?

John
