AboutTom Horne Expertise I`m well versed in classical literature, from Greek mythology up to the Pre-Renaissance, including Homer, Dante, Bocaccio, Virgil. I`m currently a writer who incorporates many classical references in my work, so I constantly keep myself involved, and I`d be happy to help anyone in need of some help, a reference, etc.
Question I have a book of poems published in 1892 by MacMillan & Co. in London. It says it is a "First Series" and under that "New Edition". I can find no listing of the exact title of this book on the internet. It also has a dedication page to Alfred Tennyson. Would you be familiar with his works or know anyone else who might know the value of this book. It is in pretty good condition and has a foreword by Robert Browning dated "London, May 14, 1872." Thanks so much for your help.

Answer Hello, Cheryl.
You have the first series of the Poems of Robert Browning...or the Poetry Works of Robert Browning, or sometimes called The Poetical Works. You are correct about the title, because since it was never given a formal title, there are different titles that scholars have used over the years, including the ones I mention above.
As for the value, I'm sorry I cannot help you much there, as I am not a book appraiser. However, in case you didn't know, a site called Alibris sells plenty of old and rare books. Here is a link:
