Bree Kibler Expertise I can answer ANY Q`s about the band LIVE. I am one of their biggest fans for about 7 years now. I know everything about them including b-days, music influences, how they got together...you name it I kknow it! I have seen them in conert 10 times and have met all they guys 4 times. I love this song, and would like to know 1) what is the "Pillar of Davidson" and 2) what lyrics Michael Stipe is singing at the end of the song (the hypnotic counter-melody). I appreciate your expertise and look forward to your response.

Answer Well...no one really knows what "pillar of davidson"is.. Some people have said that it is Caterpiller(the company) and Harley Davidson both of which have factories in York Pa(lives hometown) and Ed was talking about how many people are stuck in places like that woring for the "man" but I have not really ever heard a clear definition from the band or anyone else on what it means!
As to the lyrics at the end..It is Ed kowalczyk sining..not Michael Stipe and they go like this
