Expertise
I can offer emotional support to those suffering from visual impairments--specifically those dealing with retina detachments and cataracts. I am legally blind since birth and have recently gone through many retina detachment surgeries and have had cataracts. I can share with you my experiences, and offer you practical solutions to dealing with retina detachments which I have learned over the past few months. I am still waiting to see if my last detachment surgery is successful, so I am experiencing this along with you and would be more than happy to simply be a shoulder to cry on, if needed. I am also willing to discuss living with visual impairments...and how it effects daily life, relationships, careers, etc.

Experience
I have been legally blind since birth. Just recently had a cataract surgery that lead to four retina detachment surgeries. I have had both silicon oil and PFO in my eye, and have also been through the "head down" positioning that often follows a detachment. I am facing another cataract surgery for the other eye. I have a great deal of experience when it comes to practical solutions for living with this problem. I also know what it is to live day in and day out with a disability, and have learned how to handle it's effect on relationships(romantic and otherwise).
