Question
Hi

I have lost the key to my mailbox which is part of a Knobloch multi-unit, is their anyway of getting another key? Or is my only solution to have the lock changed by a locksmith?

Thanks

Answer
Hello Lzzy,

You can buy a replacement lock and change it yourself, if you can get the door open to remove it, or you can hire a locksmith to either make you a new key or replace the lock.  They may have to pick it open if it's not open already.

If the face of the lock has any numbers on it, call a locksmith in your area to see if that matches any codes they can use to determine how your key should be cut which may save you some money.

The post office isn't responsible for tenant locks and keys so it's up to your or the landlord to replace the lock or get a new key.
