Question Terry,
My Dad just passed away and I have the same problem that another person had here with a 9041 safe. I tried the number of turns and directions that you gave them with our combination (he gave it to me 10 years ago and I asked him for numbers before he died, the same) and no luck. the final turn does not produce a click or stop of any kind. Would the handle be turned up or down (clockwise or counter)? I have looked for the owners manual without success. Found every toaster oven owner's manual they ever had. Appreciate any help you can offer. Need his military discharge papers for burial. Thanks, rg
Answer Rick,
If you have the version provided by Meilink, the combination dialing sequence would be as follows:
4 times left to the first number,
3 times right to the second number,
2 times left to the third number,
1 time right, slowly to stop (around 80).
Note: left is counter clockwise, right is clockwise. Don't count the revolutions of the dial, count the individual number as it arrives at the index mark on the dial ring.
If I remember right the handle would be turned counter clockwise after the combo is unlocked.
there are only three reasons a lock will not open:
1. incorrect dialing sequence,
2. incorrect combination
3. mechanical problems
If it still won't open you may need to take it to a local safe company to have them check it out.
