Question

Victor Safe
I have an early 1900s Victor cannonball safe. It has a large screw in door with timelock clocks in the back of the door. It is open, but locked. I do not have the clocks, but want to use it without them. How does it come apart??? to figure out the combination. I hsve it partially disasembled but can not get it apart to access the combination.  Pics attached.  Ray

Answer
Ray,

I would have to take a closer look at your safe, but if memory serves me correctly the combo was actually set through the front of the safe, not the rear.  The combo lock was actually like a "day lock", it would keep the door from rotating during the day, but it was not the main lock.  The automatic timelock device was the main lock.

Where is your safe located?
