Locksmithing - Yale lock

Expert: Terry Andreasen (Andy) - 2/5/2009

Question
Andy - have a Shaw-Walker safe with a Yale lock, but no key.  The number on the lock is B7S51, is there any way of getting a key for this lock, or, just make sure drawers are never locked?
Thanks, Don

Answer
Don,

If the safe/cabinet is open, you should be able to remove the lock.  You can then take it to a locksmith to either have a key made or possibly obtain a replacement lock.  I have the codes for this lock and could cut you a key for your lock, but the only way I can guarantee the key is by having the lock in hand.

If you don't have a local locksmith that can do it let me know.  Cost for a pair of keys is $25 plus $5 shipping & handling.

Remember that I don't guarantee if I don't have the lock.
