Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I want to change my doorknob, the kind that i have is a Posse lock and it does not have the normal two long screws at the back. The only screws that i found are on the side. However, when i take them off, the plate is still attached, nothing is coming off. What can i do?
thank you!

ANSWER: Hello Stephanie,

I've not heard of that brand but most locks that have hidden screws can be removed by first inserting a probe into one of the small holes in the interior knob, pressing down as you pull the knob off.  Pry up the trim plate and under that are the mounting screws.

If not you'll need to hire a locksmith.

QUESTION: hello, thanks for the help i found the two screws. However, i am encountering another problem, right behind the doorknob, there is a front panel plate, which is blocking my way to unscrew the screws. And i have tried to remove the front panel, however unsuccessful. Is there any way to remove it?
thank you!

Answer
Hello Stephanie,

As previously stated, insert a probe into one of the small holes in the knob to depress the retainer then pull the knob off.  The plate you refer to will then be able to be removed once the knob is off so you can access the screws.
