Locksmithing/Vanguard vs-250 safe

I own a safe I got from my parents and have lost the combo for. How can I get the combo to open this safe?

These safes were import, fire resistive containers, sold by Sears and Montgomer Wards.   They are no longer made or sold.   There are no records of original serial numbers.  Manufacturers NEVER published these lists for obvious security and liability reasons.

This limits you to two options, you can try all of the possible combinations for your safe, or you can have it opened, and the combination recovered by a safe technician from a local safe company.   NOTE:  I never recommend using locksmiths for safe work, as the generally don't have the training, knowledge or tools and can easily cause excessive damage, and/or charge exhorbant rates.   You wouldn't want the oil changed in your car, by someone who was going to damage the engine doing it - same thing with locksmiths and safes.

Unfortunately, the cost to have the safe opened and the combination could easily be more than the container is worth.

If nothing is in the safe, I would recommend saving the money and buying a new one.  If you have valuables inside that you need to retrieve, then your options may be limited.

sorry, I wish there was a better answer.   If you don't have a local safe company, let me know where you are located (zipcode) and I'll see who I know in your area.
