The batteries on my Cosmo World electronic safe (TB-3E manufactured by TOCABI)have died, so I can't use the electronic combination. This safe has a backup mechanism that uses a combination dial which is inserted into a hole in the front of the safe as shown in the photos. I've tried using the dial combination but am not certain of the turning sequence, eg, L3, R2, L1. Please let me know if you have any information that would help on how to dial in the combination.

Also I've also considered drilling into the area where the batteries are held in the door to try to provide power that way, but don't know the exact location of the batteries. Welcome your suggestions.

Thank you

The dialing sequence for your Tocabi (Japanese import) Cosmo Safe, model TB-3E safe is:

4 times Right to the first number,
3 times Left to the second number,
2 times Right to the third number,
1 time Left until the dial stops     Turn "handle" dial to retract lock bolts to open

If you only have two numbers, then try:
3 times left to the first number,
2 times Right to the second number,
1 time left until the dial stops,    turn "handle" dial to retract lock bolts to open

NOTE:   Left is counter clockwise, Right is clockwise.   DO NOT count the revolutions of the dial, count the individual number as it arrives at the index mark.   Index mark should be red line, second from left under word "electronic" on face of safe.

These safes were originally distibuted throughout the US by Cosmo Electronics in Los Angeles, CA.   213-858-0433.   They are obsolete and parts have not been available since the early 90's.   Unknown as to wether or not this company is even in business.

If you don't have the combination for the mechanical lock, or it still won't open, I recommend you taking the safe to a local safe company to have it opened.   If you don't have a local safe company (NOT a locksmith), let me know where you are located (zipcode), and I'll see who I know in your area.

Hope this helps,
