Locksmithing/Mosler Safe

Mosler Safe
Mosler Safe
Hello Andy my name is Forrest.  I've noticed you seem to answer all the questions on Mosler safes.  I recently picked one up. It is similar if not the same as the the safe in the article green Mosler safe.  It is a early 50's file safe with the retractable door.  I can open and close the door perfectly but I don't have a key for the butterfly latch.  I was wondering if you knew where i could get a blank key or if you had the dimensions so i can make one.  I've attached an image of the safe. It used to be that crackled grey / green color but I've sanded and repainted the safe.  Also roughly what is one of these Mosler safes worth

I haven't had to make a key for one of these safes in years, so off the top of my head, I don't know what key would fit the handle.   I'll have to do some research on this one.   You might try taking a good quality, high resolution photo of the key hole and send it to me, it might help.

As far as the value of this container, I would need a full set of photos including all tags and lables, with close ups of the dial, handle, hinges, castors, lock, bolt work and insulation to determine what its condition is.

You can send all of the above photos to me at:   andy@securitysafeusa.com
