Locksmithing/ASCO file cabinet lock

Question
Hi again Dan --
I forgot to mention in my last email that I've tried both the usual key and the hardly-used spare key in that ASCO file cabinet lock that is not popping out when you turn the key.

Answer
The little round part that you put the key into and turn has a little tit on the back of it that rotates to pull the plunger down.

That plunger is what comes out of the top of the lock and keeps the file cab locked.

If you are going to drill it, don't go too far and drill into the plunger.

YOu want to remove the part where the key goes and no more.

Then you can move the plunger down with and icepick.
