Locksmithing/ILCO UNICAN Floor Safe

We have an ILCO UNICAN floor safe with a roller in the top half of the safe so that employees can drop their deposits after their shift.  Last week we noticed that the housing around the actual dial of the safe was loose, long story short, there are deposits in the safe and it will no longer open with the combination.  Help!

Hi Jewel,

"ILCO/UNICAN" was a lock manufacturer not a safe manufacturer, so that doesn't help with the safe.

This should be an easy fix for most safe technicians, however it will require lock disassembly to fix.

In the mean time, you can "center" the dial ring, as close to its normal position, and tape it down so it doesn't move - then try dialing your combination.    If it doesn't work the first time, then try adding and subtracting 1 number at a time until it opens.

So if your combo is  20 - 40 - 60   you could try the following (+/-)

19 - 39 - 59          21 - 41 - 61
18 - 38 - 58          22 - 42 - 62
17 - 37 - 57          23 - 43 - 63

If you still can't get it, then contact a local safe company to have the safe opened and serviced.

Hope this helps - but you STILL need service.
