I lost the combo for the safe and was wondering if it could be reset. It's fire proof safe, has an interior panel behind the dial and key. Opens with a flat key. Label on the side is ES-11L 000700. It's been in the family for a long time but in the process of cleaning things out, the combo's been lost.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Chris,

These little imported safes had "stamped" wheels, so there isn't much "changing" available.

If you've lost the combination, simply remove the back panel and recover the combination by observation.

The dialing sequence on these locks can be either LRL or RLR as:

3 times left to the first number,
2 times right to the second number,
1 time left to the last number - stop -  turn key to open .

There are actually two combo's which will open it - one dials LRL and the other RLR.   They are not interchangeable.    If you recover the combo RLR, you must dial the lock RLR to get it to work.

If you can't quite figure it out, then I would recommend your simply taking the door off the hinges (lift), and take it down to a local locksmith or safe company to have them recover it for you.

Hope this helps,
