Question Hi! I am 14 and am in a long distance relationship. It is so hard because I miss him all the time but I deal with it because he is an awesome boyfriend!! But some days I think it isn't worth it even though I absolutely love him to death! I always talk myself down because I figure it's more special to see him a couple days a year than everyday at school! Also our parents don't really make an effort to let us see each other even though we are always asking them! So what should i do? Break up or deal with it? And also how could I get my parents to allow us to see each other more often?
PS we live 5 hours away from each other
Answer Well it depends on the reasons why you think sometimes it is not worth it.
But if you really want to be in this relationship, you'll have to deal with the distance for now, as well as your parents' rules.
Your parents' minds are probably made up on your long distance situation, and you're probably lucky to see your boyfriend at all. Traveling can be expensive and there are accommodations that have to be made when you do visit.
You could always try to make deals with them. For example get them to agree to let you see him at least once a month, and in return, you will do the laundry or you will make dinner.
If you really love your boyfriend, don't break up with him just because you miss him. Use that energy to do positive things for the relationship. There are tons of ideas on our website. http://www.lovingfromadistance.com/thingsforldrcouplestodo.htm
