About Melissa Burton (a.k.a Bee)
Expertise
I have been in plenty of long distance relationships before and I know for a fact that they do take lots of hard work and dedication. I can help with making a relationship strong enough to last even through distance, breaking up long distance, not knowing what to do when things get hard, dealing with heart break, starting to like someone else even though you are in a relationship long distance, etc. If you need advice I`m here to help and if you just need someone to talk to then I`ll be glad to listen.

Experience
I have been in long distance relationships before and some have worked and some
have not. I know plenty of people who are in the same type of relationships as these.

Long Distance Relationships - Long distance relationship

Expert: Melissa Burton (a.k.a Bee) - 6/15/2009

Question
I am a 16 and a half year old girl living in Virginia, and my boyfriend lives in Kentucky, works in a pharmacy, and has just registered for college. We are about thirty minutes apart right now and have been seeing each other two or three times a week. I am moving to my mom's in georgia, and he wants to have a long distance relationship using webcam and phone and coming to see me whenever he can, and whenever I can. My parents support this, and his parents are a little less sure, but are agreeable. Will this last, if he has college, and I have three more years of high school?

Answer
Hello

I cannot tell you if this will last or not. Fortunately you guys are used to some degree of distance so this might not be too bad but I cannot tell you the future. I mean it's possible the distance could kill you guys, or that you both are young and may realize you guys aren't what you guys really want down the line, may meet someone else, or who knows, you guys might make it through and everything will go great. Either way I couldn't really tell you. All I can tell you is that it is worth a try just to see what happens. The odds may be against you guys but it does work out for some people, so it's certainly possible it may work out for you guys as well. Good luck!

Melissa
