AboutPatrick Spreng Expertise Brooklyn and LA Dodgers, 1884 - 2008 [except appraisals: I DO NOT KNOW how much your autographed baseball (or other collectible) is worth].
Experience Other than being a life-long Dodger fan I don't have any particular baseball credentials -- I have always lived in the southwest and have only been to Dodger Stadium once in my life.
Question When I was young and lived in SoCal (1984-1993) I loved to listen to the Dodgers on the radio. I vivdly remember a certain song that was played before the Dodgers pregam show. I'd like to get the name of the song as well as the performer and where I could find a copy of the song. The lyrics are burned into my memory and go something like this: Let's go...batter up...we're taking the afternoon off. It's a beautiful day for a ball game, a ball game today...
Answer That would be "It's a Beautiful Day for a Ballgame…" by Jon Weisman:
It's a Beautiful Day for a Ballgame,
for a ballgame, today.
The fans are out to get a ticket or two
From Walla Walla, Washington to Kalamazoo
It's a beautiful day for a home run
But even a triple's okay
We're gonna cheer
And boo
And raise a hallabaloo
At the ballgame, today!
