Question
Thanks, April...I am in possession of said birdcage, so am anxious to find this episode. The cage was acquired indirectly from a gentleman who was a stagehand on I Love Lucy at the time of filming. In a letter that accompanied the cage, he states that the record-breaking (viewing audience)show aired in 1952. I, too, considered that it might be the Orson Welles episode; however, the dates don't jive. Short of actually buying DVDs and watching various episodes, do you know of any other sources I might contact to help solve this mystery? I sincerely appreciate your time!...Robin

Question -
Hello, April...I am trying to find a particular I Love Lucy episode in which a magic trick using a small bird cage was performed. My resources lead me to believe this episode aired in 1952. Can you help me? Thanks...Robin
Answer -
try episode #6.2  from 1956 i believe.   that's the episode where orson welles wants to use lucy in his magic act.

Answer
well, i see why you're so determined to find the episode.  sadly tho, i think the only sure way?  is to watch each episode.  maybe you can even fast forward thru 1952 episodes scanning for a birdcage.  sorry i couldn't be more helpful, but aside from actually LOOKING for the cage, i can't think of a solution.  frankly?  w/ all due respect, unless you see the cage w/ your own eyes on an episode?  it's all just heresay...i.e.  this guy says he worked on the set, but w/o visual proof of the cage you possess actually being viewed on an episode, it's just that. a guy saying he was there.

here's a good site that maybe you can ask around on...
