Question
My question is reguarding flem buildup in the lungs and trouble breathing.  What causes this flem buildup and how can I get rid of itr,  I have been caughing this up for over a month now,  can you give me some advice.  Thank you,

Hi Greg,

Phlegm can be caused by a number of things. It would be wise to go and see a doctor to make sure that you do not have a chest infection as this is a common cause of excess phlegm - especially thick coloured phlegm e.g. yellow, brown, green etc...

Your doctor would also be the best person to ask re the treatment of phlegm as the cause will affect which treatment will be best.
