I don't know.  I read your answer, and I don't think I agree.  I just listened to all three parts of "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini", and I don't hear that piano part in it.  I agree with the writer that it's quite a famous piece of music, but I don't think this is it.  I wish I coul say what is it, but I can't offer that info either.

This is part of Beethoven's Pathetique (Piano Sonata No. 8, op. 13 in C minor) movement 1.  There are many versions you can catch on YouTube if you're so inclined.

The piece that Amanda played in the bar for Charles is actually Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique, second movement. I contacted Amanda directly and asked her.

Sorry Jan, its not Rach'm at all. Its "Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, op. 13 (Pathetique), 1st movement" - thanks IMDB!

sorry, but this is not the correct music. I am searching for the same piece, and i know that this is different, the piece in question is very up tempo whereas the Rachmaninov is a very gentle piece.

Beethoven Piano Sonata 8 - I Grave Allegro Di Molto E Con Brio

I believe the first answer is incorrect.  I believe the piano tune was "Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, op. 13 (Pathetique), 1st movement".

I sure sounds more like the tune she played.  And it's on iTunes as well.

That is incorrect,it is not Theme of Paganini.

Amanda is playing Beethoven Piano Sonata No.8 "Pathétique".

And Yes...She even told me so.

I can answer any question about any episode. I have the complete series on VHS & the 1st 10 seasons on DVD. Ask away...

I have watched all episodes many times, some much more than that. The best show to ever hit the t.v. airwaves.
