Questions about the characters on MASH, the cast, the television show and different episodes, about bloopers on MASH, about quotes and if I don't know the answer, I'll do my best to find out!

I have been watching MASH since it was an original show, I also watch it 4 times daily in reruns, I can tell when something has been cut from a show (as it was on FX much more frequently than it has been on Hallmark).

Question
Except for the few times when cast members used the PA System on MASH the TV show, was the same voice used for seasons 1 thru 11?

Answer
Hi again Ric!  Good to hear from you!

The two "unseen" announcers over the MASH P.A. were Sal Viscusco and Todd Sussman.  Sal Viscusco is often mistaken for the voice in the MOVIE MASH, but this is not the case - he only did the P.A. for the television show.

He was also in the movie spaceballs and was most recently (2006) in ER as an extra.

Todd Sussman - has a varied career in broadway, on the stage, and in a lot of television shows http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0839881/ as a guest - but no matter how varied his career, he is still best known as the other voice on the MASH P.A.

Sometimes it was a cast member (Klinger or Radar) but the unseen voices are the gentlemen listed above.

Hope this helps, thanks for asking, and viva la MASH!!!!!

FOLLOW UP - Ric - I just read something on that I had not known until now (and I hope is true, since I am repeating it here) - so here it is and hope you like it - Jaime Farr was the voice on the P.A. for the pilot episode.

If this is true, it was BEFORE he was cast as Corporal Klinger. His first appearance as Klinger was in "Chief Surgeon Who?", when he was just supposed to be a sight gag, a soldier trying to get out of the army by wearing a womens uniform, and later appearing naked.

This is a really fun thing to know - so I wanted to share it with you!  Thanks for helping me realize something that I had not known before!!!  - Viva La Mash!  Judy
