MG Car Repair/SU float bowl position

1965 Sprite USA market 1098 eng. What is the correct positioning of the float bowl housings? The front bowls bottom points towards the left fender and the aft bowls bottom points towards the engine . I would think they both should be vertical. The SU rebuild kit has a white and a green adaptor in it. moss part # 378-090 and 378-085 but does not state which is for the front and which is for the back. they both look the same to me.

         Thank Al

SU Float Chamber Adaptors
SU Float Chamber Adapt
Hi Al

The Sprite carbs are semi-downdraught.  The inlet manifold tilts the bodies at an angle of 20 degrees.

The adaptors have ears that fit into slots in the body of the carb and the float chamber,
rotating them by 20 degrees, so the float chambers remain horizontal.

The green adaptor fits the rear carb and the grey adaptor fits the front carb.

See attached chart.
