Question Hi,
I got a Lightsnake STUSBMIDI10 1-in/1-out USB MIDI interface (from SoundTech Professional Audio) to connect my computer to my keyboard Yamaha PSR-520. It is 16 Channels and according to the manufacture, it can be use with Windows Vista and I have Windows Vista Home Premium.
This device is Plug & Play and when I install it through the USB port it is recognized by my computer (and the driver is successfully installed) however, I have not could make it work with my keyboard, not sound comes out. Can you please help me on how can I make this device work with my keyboard?, I am sure I have to set up some parameters in Window Vista but I haven't get through (it work with Windows XP. I already tested it in another computer).
Thanks.
Answer We'll have to troubleshoot it step by step...
1) Reset your keyboard, or at least, make sure it is transmitting data on channel 1 and sending to the MIDI OUT port.
2) Make sure your cable runs from the Keyboard MIDI OUT, to the interface MIDI IN.
3) Does your MIDI interface have activity LEDs on it (most do)... do they blink when you press a key on the keyboard?
4) Please tell me what software you have available...
