Question Hello. I am trying to connect my Yamaha AW2816 digital hard disk recorder to my new IMac for the Garageband application via MIDI connection (MTC) out to a M Audio fast track pro interface for synchronization and mixing. Can't seem to find any driver online that I need, and have established a connection in the MIDI setup screen between the Fast Track Pro Icon and a "New External Device" (Keyboard) Icon. On the garageband input selection box, I only have a stereo, mono 1, and mono 2 option, no MIDI selection. Could you possibly help?
Garageband is a simple consumer-level sequencer app - since you have dropped a few grand on your hardware, why are you trying to use free software? Purchase the latest version of Logic, or ProTools M-powered and you will have a professional-level portable studio that will interface to all your equipment ... forget about Garageband.
