I am a beginner. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
I have a Yamaha PSR 260 keyboard, Korg X5D synth and a MIDIsport uno. I can record midi on my PC using the PSR 260 - MIDIsport uno - PC setup. Playing MIDI on this keyboard from the PC works as well.
However, for the Korg X5D - MIDIsport uno - PC setup, only midi recording is possible. When I try to play MIDI from my PC to Korg X5D, different notes come out from it.
Please note that I have not changed anything with the configuration of my keyboards and MIDI sport.
Please advise. Thank you.
Answer When you play the keyboard, MIDI is sent to software running on the PC, which then alters it according to the current track info and resends it to the Korg.
So it sounds like you have different patch/bank/channel settings on your software that are altering the original MIDI info sent by the Yamaha.
Also, the Yamaha and Korg need to be set to LOCAL CONTROL OFF if you are using them with a DAW and running it all through the PC.
