Question I have an MPC 2000xl and I recently got a s/pdif cord to supposed record my music. I am routing the s/pdif into an MBOX 2 Pro s/pdif in. I am using Pro Tools 8. According to the Pro Tools manual, my digital out device (MPC) is not even being recognized, nor am I getting a read out on the track monitor. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer Check the following:
- The MPC is set to output its audio to the digital connector.
- The MBOX is set to receive input on its digital connector.
- The MBOX digital channel receiving the data is active and showing a signal when sent from the MPC.
- The PT track is set to receive its signal from the same digital channel of the MBOX as what is receiving the data and is armed for recording.
Follow up with any questions and/or further details of each of these settings. I wish there was a way to submit photos and screen shots on this AllExperts forum, but as far as I know there isn't... so that makes it rather difficult... a picture IS worth a thousand words... so for now... we'll just have to use a lot of words...
