Question
hi, my computer play music fine but when i use the sounder recorder which comes with windows i can only just hear what i have recorded with the volume turned fully up. i am trying to record a sound from the internet

cheers

Answer
Hi Ian,

I see the problem, what you have to do is this....

1, Double click the sound icon, on the bottom half of your screen, choose options - > properties. In the page, under the "adjust volume for", choose the record button.

2. Now, different sound cards have different ways of getting in streaming audio, on my PC i have an option called Wave(please note, this is not the normal wave option of the Playback setting, this Wave is used to record incoming streams from the internet), i would not know what option you have(this is based on the type of soundcard you have), so my best bet would be for you to use trial and error, it will start to record at a point.

3. Don't use sound recorder, as sound recorder records to RAM and not to hard disk. Use audacity (google for this, this is a free download, this will record to hard disk ,and you have many filters to choose from)

Hope this helps!
