Question Hi Bob,
Thanks for the first round of answers.
I have one more question. The pc is in one room and the MAC in an other. If I
can't get the old Airport card, ( and don't want to buy the new whey of doing
it) can I get router for both MAC and the pc? Or cam I get two Modems one
for the room the pc is in and one for the room the MAC is in. thaanks for all
your help, and I will be nominateing you for volunteer of the month.
Thanks Barbara

In this case, wireless is the best way to go, but you don't have to buy Apple's Airport. You'll see several moderately priced wireless routers on the page I linked to.
The you would need a wireless adapter for the Mac. Hopefully you can keep the modem and router near enough to the PC that you can wire that.
What model Mac is it and what version operating system is installed on it?
