Question Why is the sequence of drilling, boring and reaming a hole is more accurate than just drilling and reaming it
Answer Boring makes the hole round and puts it in a precise location.
If I have very accurate holes to make I will not ream. I will spot drill, drill about .010 to .015 less than my finish diameter. Then finish the hole by boring it. I can hold a very tight tolerance and control the surface that way.
