Question
I have at Mac at home witch has a DVD/CD player in it.

I was wondering would you please me: is the DVD player on computers the
same as the DVD player witch is connected to your T.V?

Thanks

Answer
Any device that can READ DVD's is the same.
The device may be able to OUTPUT to a computer's screen only, OR may out put through a cable to a NTSC or PAL display device.
SOME DVD readers can also WRITE DVD's.
