Question
Hey man, two issues i've got with safari;

1) Safari always used to show the latest google interface with all the doodles for me but recently it's been showing the old interface with no doodle. i haven't downgraded the safari browser. why has this happened?

2) i can't reset my home page to http://www.google.com/. i tried using Safari Preferences. entered http://www.google.com/ and clicked Set to Home Page but it doesn't work, it doesn't change.

Answer
mik,

What version of Safari are you using? What version of the OS?

1) I'm seeing the same interface in Chrome as I do in safari. Today (US Holiday) I see a little american flag on both (which is today's doodle, I think.)

2)  Make sure that "New windows open with" and "New Tabs open with" show Homepage.

Let me know if that helps..
