Question My company has about twenty 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4, 1MB L3
cache, 768 MB DDR SDRAM, some running Mac OS X 10.3.8
(Panther) and some running 10.2.8 (Jaguar).
We all use Internet Explorer 5.2.2 to access a database server on
our intranet. The problem is with the Home Page address setting
on the "Browser Display" in Internet Explorer Preferences. We all
recently changed our Home Page address to a new HTML file on
the database server. But on some computers, this change does
not "take."
We turn off our computers every night. When we return, some of
the computers have reset the Home Page to the old address. We
go back into the Preferences screen, enter the new Home Page
address, but the next day Internet
Explorer opens up to the old Home Page again. This has
happened every day this week. This doesn't happen to all of the
computers, but happens to two computers using Jaguar and one
computer using Panther.
Any ideas?
Answer Ron,
#1 - I'd suggest moving over to safari. Explorer is very dead on the mac. Or firefox - http://www.mozilla.org
#2 - I'm assuming that those machines could stand some good maintenance:
