Expert: Huma Riaz - 3/31/2008

Question
QUESTION: Hello, I have a problem, at one place a work on a Mac OS
And at another place I work on a windows, both of which I use Freehand on, However, I cant use the Mac OS freehand files on the windows freehand, both comps have freehand 9 on them. So i was wondering if there is a way to make both of them work, Mac OS on Windows and visa versa.
Thanks alot, Dan

ANSWER: what problem do you face while opening the file?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: It just says "File is not compatible and cannot open"
also the files are named for example on the mac "flower1" and on the windows i see jibberish style instead of the them.

Thanks again, Dan

Answer
Ideally it should open, showing wrong file names means windows is not understanding the file format. what I tell you is that Mac is intelligent than PC, so if you set a file format in macintosh will be easier to understand for PC.

for instance, export your file as EPS, or illustrator ai format (preferably older) and check it in pc there, or mention the file name by typing yourself before you open in PC.

try this, if you still face problem tell me again
