Question Hi Alyn, A friend of mine has designed something in freehand on a macintosh and has sent it to a printer, who works on ibm`s, and use Illustrator. The font that he has used is only a macintosh font, and therefore cannot be used on pcs. I suggested for him to convert all of the text to paths in Freehand and export the file to Adobe Illustrator. He has said that he has tried this, but it doesn`t work. I havent got a pc machine with illustrator on it to test it out, so wasn`t sure if it really would work or not, but i couldnt honestly see how it couldnt work. Do you have any ideas?
by the way, thanks for your answer a couple of weeks ago on bringing paths into photoshop and to freehand, etc. You thought it was going to be a nightmare job, but in the end i took an easy option, and i have received the presentation folders back and they look great.
Answer simone, your friend should be able to convert his text to outlines in illustrator or in freehand, if this isn't working the problem maybe that the font is missing outlines..in which case little can be done.....i have a sweet little program called fontographer..if your friend has no luck have him collect all the pieces he has of the font, use a stuffing program and send it to me, i will see what i can do about making a pc font for him that he can include with his files, or i can see if i can do anything on this end to make it "convertable"
