QuestionHow do i print spot color seperations in Freehand 8?
im doing seperations for Screen printing.
Answervery simple depending on your printer driver, as far as freehand is concern you just make sure the colors are designated as spot, go to your color dialogue box select each color and make sure that the under color then options is selected as SPOT COLOR, if when you go into print and your spot colors do not appear as options to print then you don't have a printer that will allow quick easy seps...but if this is the case, don't worry, i have learned a good tip over the years.
for the more complicated version:
you will need one page in your document for each spot color (yes, that includes black :) ) just duplicate pages away in the document inspector box
then go to your edit option along the top of your screen, drag to find and replace....graphics
under attributes in that section select color, now starts the tedium
select all but one page of documnet and replace black with white, then go through each page and select one spot color per page to replace with black.....when each page has been created you can pick all in document in the find and replace box and make sure that each spot color is replaced with white, since each color has been replace wtih black on individual pages, then you print out the pages and viola', you have screen print spot seps.
good luck
