Subject: cmyk images in freehand

Question
Hello again.
I'm busy finishing up with my cd cover project. We made a mock-up on saturday and it's looking pretty cool. I don't have it with me at the moment but I think that some of the information in my pictures might be a bit funny. The cmyk images obviously look different in photoshop - that we knew already... but it seems that the images look a bit more freehand-ish when printed out instead of looking exactly like they would in photoshop. If that makes sense. When they get produced en masse the printers are going to use freehand... but for the moment.. to get my mock-up looking right - how do I make sure that the images in my exports are right and not altered somehow?

Answer
:) Ask your printer Ingrid. I am sure if he uses freehand, he will confirm you the same.

If you are still not sure, you can do couple of tricks.

1. Save as the complete project into another folder and Convert the pictures in to PICT format, replace all in freehand and see the result. If you are satisfied with this, means you will get the same result as you see now.

2. Take color copies of your printer, and see the result (the result can still be as you see on monitor, result depends on printer)

I hope this will work with you, feel free to ask anything further
