Question Hi there
I'm busy designing a cd cover for a friend. What I would like to do is to import images into freehand and then continue designing. The problem is that the colours come out all warped, looking like someone has messed up the levels. It's less obvious with rgb images. Also they become pixelated. How do I import these images (what format is best, what should the settings in photoshop be.. etc??) so that they display properly so that I can base my design on them?
Answer True!
The best thing is to make EPS file with compression ON/OFF (try with both)
Also, don't put CMYK images into freehand, work with RGB and when your job is final and going for printing, convert it into CMYK,
TIFF format is also a best format to view images in freehand; you can also try with JPG (I am not sure about the result). PICT format was one of the best formats for viewing in freehand
You may not be able to see the 100% view in freehand, but in printing you can see.
for printing, send your files with TIFF format No compression.
