AboutJeffrey J. Wrobel Expertise I can answer OS compatibility questions, from OS 7 to OS X 10.5.x Leopard. I have extensive experience in software installation, use, and troubleshooting as well as many aspects of high level hardware repair. Any questions about peripherals and their Mac-compatibility are also welcome. I am very current in all aspects of the Max OS, while having an excellent breadth of knowledge of older machines. My work keeps me in constant contact with Mac suppliers, products, and problems, enabling me to not only draw on my past experience, but also to add to that experience every day. Living in Rhode Island with family near Cape Cod, Mass has proven to be a bit lacking in Mac popularity (Yankees are slow to change), but momentum is building for Apple.

Question When I first bought my Mac we had to set it up to dial up internet and in the
email field it has my old email address, now we have wireless broadband
internet, I had to change my email address but in the email address field
when I type the letter c both
my new and old email address comes up.
I was wondering if you can help me with this: whenever I fill in a form on my
Mac I just have to type in the first letter then it will complete the word so I
press tap to go to the second field and I will do the same thing, but how can I
get rid of something old in autofill?
Thanks
Answer Dear Cameron,
Some of those "memories" that OS X has are stored in strange places. However, you can go a long way toward minimizing them by using a free program called CacheOutX. Go to this URL and download it:
Run the program and empty the cache and log files for BOTH the System and Internet tabs, then restart. Also, make sure that any old addresses/names are brought up to date in your address book.
In Mail, you can go to the PREFERENCES section, under the Mail pull-down menu and choose Composing. Uncheck the box that says "Automatically complete addresses" and then nothing will come up. Do a PRAM reset after all this by choosing RESTART and holding down the OPTION, COMMAND, P, and R keys AFTER the screen goes black. Hold down all 4 at the same time and keep them down until you hear 3 separate startup "chimes." Let all the keys up and the computer will start normally. You should be all set.
If you keep having this happen, just write a followup question, okay?
Good Luck,
Jeffrey Wrobel
