Or the computer in any way?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Thanks for getting back so quickly . When it is launched, a Window comes up saying "scanning for Files" 12 or 15 sec. later it just quits. a Window comes up ( Do you wont to report this to Apple) The imovie Verson 7.1.4 it came with ilife 08 CD

Thanks for writing back and sorry for the delay! It sounds as if iMovie is crashing due to a corrupt project or clip.  Navigate to your movies folder in your user folder, or wherever you are storing your iMovie projects.  Move the iMovie projects out to the desktop, and then, one by one, move the projects back in, relaunch iMovie, and try to narrow down which project or clip is causing the crash.  You'll want to let iMovie index or scan the project, successfully launch, and then quit it before moving the next one.

Good luck!

I worked in IT for ten years with a specialty in Macintosh technologies and Project Management.
I've worked with the Macintosh Operating system and various machines since my first PowerMac 8500 running Mac OS 7.5.3 in 1996. I support my friends and family in keeping their Macs healthy and upgraded. Now I use a MacBook Pro for our home media network and we're pretty much down to iPads and iPhones for daily use.
Most important: I've also worked on PCs for a number of years with various flavors of Windows(95,98,NT4,2000,2000Server,2K3Server,SBS 2K3Server,Mil,XPHome,XPPro, Vista Business), but I've always used the Mac as my platform of preference.
