Hi,

Do you know what episode has the couple trying to get the baby to sleep alone, using the Ferber method? I'd like to show it in my developmental psychology class.

Yes, absolutely.  This show was entitled "The Conversation".  It originally aired on Dec. 16, 1997.  

This was an excellent episode.  Both the psychological and moral implications of the Ferber Method are debated at length. Great choice for your class.

Just as a side note, originally, it was shot in one continuous take, and is now often shown without commercial interruption, as it originally ran back in 1997. This episode was also directed by Gordon Hunt, Helen Hunt's father. Not sure if you'll need it, but the episode number is #128
