Question
Did the cast of the show get along? Once John Pankow joined the cast it seemed to gel a lot better than most and they all seemed to enjoy each other, but then you hear about Star Trek-type experiences where most of the cast didn't like William Shatner, and he didn't know about it for three decades! Would there ever be any hope of any reunion or highlight shows? A lot of times when I watch Paul and Helen together, I wonder if they were at all like Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore, who had crushes on each other even though they were both married.

Answer
I'm not aware of any fighting amongst the cast, but unless I heard it direct from a cast member, I'd have to take it with a grain of salt. You know how the media can get in this country, if two people aren't fighting but them fighting would lead to huge ratings...

I think a scene in the movie "61" puts it best. Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris (played by Thomas Jane and Barry Pepper respectively) are watching TV and a reporter is talking about Mantle and Maris's bitter feud. Maris turns to Mantle and says "Hey Mickey, are we fighting?" Mantle says, "I guess so. That's what they're saying on TV." Then Maris looks him up and down and says, totally deadpan. "Dick."
