Answer In the series finale, Mable was portrayed as an adult and she was flashing back to her childhood. Paul and Jamie had infact split up. However, at the end of the show, the two of them met at a screening of a play that Mable had written and they realized that they we're still in love. I believe that Jamie asked Paul if he wanted to come over and have some pie or something like that. And that was how it ended. I beleive that you were to interpret that they would get back together.
